Handover planning utility

Total Project Ownership Checklist

Check whether source, accounts, data, domains, documentation and ongoing responsibilities are defined before project acceptance or vendor handover.

Private by design: your selections are evaluated in this browser. This tool does not require registration, submit answers to Zolesco or call an external API.

1. Is source/design access defined?

Access expectations should identify what is delivered and where it is stored.

2. Are domain, hosting and third-party accounts controlled by named owners?

Vendor-owned accounts can become operational risk if transfer paths are not defined.

3. Are data export and backup responsibilities defined?

Operational continuity depends on knowing what can be exported and who maintains backups.

4. Is operating documentation sufficient for another qualified team?

Handover quality is stronger when a new maintainer can understand deployment, dependencies and recurring tasks.

5. Is post-launch responsibility explicit?

Maintenance, warranty/fix windows and change requests should not be inferred from launch delivery.

Method

  • Review five practical ownership areas: source/design access, accounts, data/backup, operating documentation and post-launch responsibility.
  • Unresolved areas increase the handover-risk signal and generate a checklist of items to clarify.
  • Use the output as an acceptance conversation aid and evidence checklist.

Limitations

  • This checklist does not interpret copyright, employment, licensing, privacy or other legal rights.
  • Contract terms and applicable law control legal ownership; obtain qualified legal advice where needed.
  • The tool does not verify that access credentials, backups or exports actually work.
