Website Redesign Readiness Assessment

Identify unresolved content, decision, migration, ownership and approval work before treating a redesign as ready to enter delivery.

Private by design: your selections are evaluated in this browser. This tool does not require registration, submit answers to Zolesco or call an external API.

1. Is the business goal for the redesign explicit?

A redesign is easier to scope when the business problem is stated independently of visual preferences.

2. Is the content inventory and ownership known?

Unknown content volume and approval ownership often destabilize design and launch dates.

3. Is the existing URL/search migration context understood?

Redesigns can change information architecture without changing the need to preserve valuable URLs and signals.

4. Is there one decision owner and an approval path?

Multiple reviewers are manageable when one person consolidates decisions and deadlines.

5. Are post-launch ownership and access expectations explicit?

Domain, hosting, analytics, source, content and ongoing maintenance should not be left to handover day.

Method

  • Review five readiness areas: business goal, content ownership, migration context, approvals and post-launch ownership.
  • Each unresolved area increases the planning-risk signal; the numeric value is used only internally to select a planning band.
  • Use the flagged priorities as a pre-scope checklist before comparing delivery commitments.

Limitations

  • This is a planning heuristic, not a project acceptance decision or guarantee of delivery readiness.
  • It does not inspect your website, analytics, search data, contracts or technical infrastructure.
  • A qualified discovery process may identify dependencies not represented by these five questions.
